Teppei Takeda is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Jikei University School of Medicine, where he has been based since 2019. From 2023 to 2025, he served as a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned his Medical Degree from Jikei University in 2013 and was awarded a Ph.D. in Medicine from the same institution in 2023, with a thesis focused on endoscopic approaches for pituitary tumors and olfactory preservation.
He possesses advanced clinical skills in endoscopic nasal tumor resection and skull base surgery, and has contributed to numerous research publications in the field, including studies on nasal tumors, anterior skull base reconstruction, and endoscopic surgical techniques. His research interests include molecular analyses such as RNA sequencing of olfactory neuroblastoma, glycan analysis, and cell culture experiments.
He has been an invited presenter and instructor at multiple national and international conferences, including the Japanese Rhinologic Society, Japanese Society for Skull Base Surgery, North American Skull Base Society, and the International Society of Inflammation and Allergy of the Nose. Recognized for his outstanding contributions, he received the Outstanding Performance Award from the Japanese Rhinologic Society and international scholarships such as the NASBS Travel Scholarship and ISIAN Research Award.
His work has been published in reputable journals, with a focus on minimally invasive surgical techniques, tumor resection, and molecular research in sinonasal conditions. Teppei Takeda continues to pursue innovations in rhinology and skull base surgery, aiming to improve patient outcomes through advancing surgical methods and understanding disease mechanisms.
