Shawn M Stevens, MD FACS completed his two year accredited Neurotology Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati in July 2017 following residency at the Medical University of South Carolina (Charleston) and medical school at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He and his family have since been living in the Phoenix Metro area in Arizona. Dr. Stevens serves as an Associate Professor in the Barrow Department of Otolaryngology and Skull Base Surgery in Phoenix; a Department of Barrow Neurological Institute. In that capacity, Dr. Stevens serves as the director of the Cochlear Implant, Auditory Brainstem Implant, and Lateral Skull Base Surgery Programs and is in process of founding the Barrow Hearing Health Science Center. He has served as President of the Arizona Society of Otolaryngology from 2022-25 and continues as an AAO Board of Governors Representative for the State of Arizona. Dr. Stevens also holds leadership and adminstrative roles in the American Neurotology Society, North American Skull Base Society, and the AAOHNS. He is proud to collaborate in active research with Arizona State University, the University of Arizona, Phoenix Childrens Hospital, multi-institutional studies, and industry-supported studies.Research interests include cochlear implant/hearing implants, skull base disorders, clinical outcomes in acoustic neuroma, surgical simulation, and quality improvement in medicine. He is a proud father to three boys and husband to Gina.
