PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Sialendoscopy has revolutionized the management of benign obstructive salivary gland diseases, offering a minimally invasive solution for obstructive pathologies such as stones and strictures. This panel will bring together leading experts to explore its role in contemporary practice, from understanding patient-reported outcomes to reviewing advanced techniques. Discussions will include innovative approaches, the integration of sialendoscopy into comprehensive care, and alternative management options when the technology is unavailable. Attendees will gain actionable insights into improving patient outcomes, enhancing gland preservation, and navigating challenging cases. This session provides practical pearls, emphasizes patient-centered care, and positions sialendoscopy as a cornerstone of modern salivary gland management.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: Develop technical expertise in sialendoscopy, including troubleshooting tips, managing difficult cases, and preventing complications.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: Interpret patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) to assess and improve the quality of care in obstructive salivary gland disease

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: Evaluate alternative management strategies for salivary gland obstruction, including medical therapy, minimally invasive procedures, and gland excision when sialendoscopy is not available.

BACKGROUND STATEMENT: Benign salivary gland disease is a key area of interest identified as a gap topic for the 2025 annual meeting. Sialendoscopy addresses these challenges and aligns with trends toward minimally invasive, organ-preserving techniques.

Comprehensive Otolaryngology Track Statement : By reviewing causes and management of benign obstructive salivary gland disease, a comprehensive otolaryngologist is equipped to more holistically address overlapping patient concerns including concurrent rhinologic, otologic, or other general ENT issues present with these diseases.
