PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This panel will combine the perspectives of Rhinologists and Facial Plastic Surgeons in the assessment of nasal obstruction and the determination of treatment options. Patient photos and nasal endoscopies will be displayed to fully show the nasal exam. We will discuss findings we look for when assessing the nose and what treatments may be appropriate for the different findings. We will focus on a wide range of treatment options from in-office minimally invasive procedures to open nasal valve treatments and septorhinoplasty. We will review the specific rhinoplasty maneuvers that would treat the identified areas of nasal obstruction where appropriate. We will include cases where prior nasal surgery has already been performed and what new treatment options vs. revision surgeries are appropriate.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: To better understand the comprehensive nasal exam through both physical exam and nasal endoscopy findings.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: To understand what surgical procedures and maneuvers would be appropriate given the physical exam findings.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: To identify when minimally invasive nasal valve procedures may be indicated through evaluation of various patient nasal endoscopies. We will review common pitfalls of these procedures and indications for in-office treatments.

BACKGROUND STATEMENT: With the recent advances in minimally invasive nasal valve treatments, it can be confusing when the various treatments may be indicated. Comparing and contrasting exam findings in this setting will help gain insight on indications for the various options and improve patient outcomes overall.
