Lourdes Quintanilla-Dieck, MD, FACS, is a Pediatric Otolaryngologist Head & Neck surgeon whose practice is in Portland, Oregon, as an Associate Professor at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Her major clinical interests are thyroid pathology in children and velopharyngeal insufficiency (VPI). She completed medical school at the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Monterrey, Mexico, where she grew up most of her life. After graduating, she spent two years in Boston, Massachusetts, performing medical research in the genetics of microtia at Harvard University. She then completed residency in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery at OHSU in Portland, Oregon, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She returned to OHSU to join the Pediatric Otolaryngology team, where she is the co-director of the Pediatric Thyroid Nodule Multidisciplinary clinic at Doernbecher Children's Hospital. She is also one of the surgeons on the OHSU Cleft and Craniofacial Malformations team and has a passion for caring for patients with cleft palate and VPI.
