Dr. Tien-Hua Chen is a physician specializing in medical oncology, currently serving as an Attending Physician at Taipei Veterans General Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan. His completed his residency in the Department of Internal Medicine at National Taiwan University Hospital from 2014 to 2018. Following this, he dedicated three years, from 2018 to 2021, to a fellowship in the Division of Medical Oncology within the Department of Oncology at Taipei Veterans General Hospital, where he honed his expertise in cancer treatment. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of Clinical Medicine, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, further demonstrating his commitment to advancing medical knowledge and research.
Dr. Chen's research interest focused on the treatment and drug resistance of head-neck cancer and esophageal cancer. The past studies include novel immune-modulating drugs for head and neck cancer, the efficacy of various treatment regimens for recurrent and metastatic cancers, the role of tumor-associated tissue eosinophilia in promoting angiogenesis and metastasis, and finally the prognostic model from real-world head-neck cancer data. He has also explored PD-L1 expression and microsatellite instability in elderly patients with gastric cancer. The current focus of research includes treatment efficacy of neoadjuvant therapy and drug resistance mechanisms in head-neck cancer.
