Juan Camilo Cuya Martinez, MD, MSc, MPH, Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology, Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia). Dr. Cuya is a physician and researcher with expertise in clinical epidemiology and health technology assessment. He has contributed as methodological advisor and co-author to research on sleep medicine, specifically analyzing polysomnography outcomes in patients undergoing nasal valve repair surgery for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). His work supports evidence-based approaches to evaluating surgical treatments for nasal obstruction and OSA. Dr. Cuya also has extensive experience in regulatory affairs, new product launches, and cost-effectiveness analyses for pharmaceuticals in Latin America. He has worked as a consultant for the Colombian Ministry of Health, the Institute for Health Technology Assessment (IETS), and international organizations such as PAHO and UNICEF. At Universidad de Los Andes, he teaches medical students research design, the healthcare system, and neglected infectious diseases. At bioaccessTM, he supports regulatory submissions for new medical device clinical trials. Dr. Cuya holds an M.D. from Universidad de Los Andes, a master’s degree in HIV from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Spain), and a master’s degree in epidemiology and public health from Universidad de Los Andes.
