Dr. Masterson completed residency training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and Facial Plastic Surgery. He is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and holds a fellowship in otolaryngologic allergy. His research has been published in national peer-reviewed journals, and he has lectured at major ENT and medical conventions throughout the country. During his residency, he scored among the highest in the country on his board exams and has been recognized by numerous professional societies for his research. In addition to general ENT care, he devotes a significant portion of his practice to the diagnosis and treatment of allergies affecting the ears, nose, sinuses, and throat.
Dr. Masterson completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Missouri State University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He then earned his medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating at the top of his class. Following medical school, Dr. Masterson completed a five-year residency in Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat or ENT), Head and Neck Surgery, and Facial Plastic Surgery at Oklahoma State University and Kansas City University Affiliated Hospitals.
Dr. Masterson serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Anatomy at Kansas City University College of Medicine and Biosciences. Known for his warm, caring, and professional demeanor, he takes the time to listen to his patients and determine how to best meet their needs. In his spare time, Dr. Masterson enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He also enjoys playing the guitar and piano and is actively involved in his faith community.
