John V Bosso, MD is an Allergist/Immunologist and Professor of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennslvania. He serves as the Medical Director of the Penn AERD Center and the Director of the OTO-Allergy Clinic at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
He is a graduate of the Jacobs School of Medicine, State University of New York at Buffalo. After a residency in internal medicine at SUNY Downstate/Staten Island University Hospital, he headed west to Scripps Clinic ( La Jolla, CA) to complete an allergy/Immunology fellowship. At Scripps, which was then the national referral center for AERD, he was one of the earliest fellows to be trained to perform aspirin desensitization under the mentorship of Drs. Don Stevenson and Ron Simon.
After completing fellowship, he started a private practice in Nyack, New York where he founded the first AERD program on the east coast at Montefiore-Nyack Hospital.
In 2016, after 26 years in practice, he joined the Rhinology Division at the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Otorhinolaryngology, forming the first multi-disciplinary AERD Center in the world with Drs. James Palmer, Nithin Adappa, David Kennedy, Noam Cohen and Michael Kohanski.
