Bastien Valencia is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Mayo Clinic Florida. Originally from Honduras, he earned his medical degree in 2024 from Tecnológico de Monterrey, the top-ranked private university in Mexico, where he graduated as valedictorian of a class of over 150 students.
During medical school, he served as an administrative assistant and consultant for the Institutional Review Board (IRB), founded the Otolaryngology Clinical Research Interest Group, and established the institution’s first non-medical library. He also completed specializations in Epidemiology for Public Health and Statistical Analysis for Public Health through Imperial College London. His research interests include skull base surgery, sinonasal disorders, and facial reanimation.
