Matthew Aschenbrenner is a fourth-year medical student studying at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Matthew received his Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology along with a minor in Philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin. Since then, Matthew has studied head and neck cancer (HNC) survivorship, piloting and assessing the feasibility of a novel strengths-based oncology health coaching intervention. Alongside his work in HNC survivorship, Matthew's interests span a variety of topics within otolaryngology, including HPV+ HNC screening in men, interventions in sleep medicine, and head and neck paragangliomas. Outside of his involvement in otolaryngology, Matthew serves as the student president of the Association of Ringside Physicians, helping students and physicians globally get involved in combat sports medicine and research.
