Gabriella Boone, BA, earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and is currently a third-year medical student at Saint Louis University School of Medicine (SLUSOM). Gabriella is currently conducting research with the Department of Otolaryngology at SLUSOM, in which her focus is on diversity and inclusion in academic otolaryngology, socioeconomic barriers to care among otolaryngology patients, cochlear implantation, and head and neck cancer. Beyond research, she currently serves as a member of the Surgery Council, provides mentorship and support to medical students exploring the specialty of otolaryngology, and previously served as a lead for the otolaryngology interest group. She also volunteers at a program that teaches medicine and anatomy to hearing impaired children learning to use hearing devices. Finally, she manages an educational social media initiative dedicated to helping students learn key concepts in otolaryngology.
