Alexander J. Barna, MPH is a 4th year medical student at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA and is currently applying for residency in otolaryngology - head & neck surgery. He is the previous Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery medical student research fellow from Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He has spent much of his academic career developing skills in epidemiology, community health research, qualitative research, and clinical science. He is passionate about understanding barriers patients face accessing specialty otolaryngologic care. His previous research interests include health equity, facial nerve paralysis, facial reconstruction, mohs reconstruction, laryngology and voice function, laryngopharyngeal reflux and dysphagia, and more.
