Medical Student
Duke University School of Medicine
Michael is a fourth-year medical student at Duke University School of Medicine. My journey to medicine originated from growing up in Ghana and witnessing various inequities that subjected many family members and close friends to poorer health outcomes. Thus, most of my passions lie in improving the health of underserved communities through medical education, mentorship, advocacy, and global outreach. Additionally, I am interested in surgical outcomes, surgical techniques, and global surgery. My goal moving forward is to pursue a career in surgery after graduation and become a global surgeon in the years after that. I hope to contribute positively to the future of medicine through patient-centered care, advocacy, and research.
