My name is Russell De Jong, I am a PGY-5 resident at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. My academic interests include cochlear implantation, congenital hearing loss, and hearing protection in children. I matched to pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at University of California San Diego - Rady Children's Hospiital and will start there in 2026. I intend to practice academic pediatric otolaryngology within the Army after my fellowship is complete. Outside of the hospital I enjoy baseball, science fiction and non-fiction novels, and disc golf, among many other things.
