PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Laryngeal stroboscopy is a fundamental tool in the diagnosis and management of voice disorders. This panel session will employ a video case-based discussion format to delve into specific examples illustrating the use of laryngeal stroboscopy to aid diagnosis of voice disorders, therapeutic decision-making, and feedback regarding the physiologic impacts of treatment. Attendees will walk away with improved laryngeal stroboscopic interpretation skills as well as a conceptual framework for application in clinical practice caring for patients with voice disorders.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: Interpret laryngeal stroboscopic findings to accurately diagnose voice disorders that may easily be missed or misdiagnosed without stroboscopy.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: Explain how clinical details gleaned from laryngeal stroboscopic exams can inform decision-making regarding approaches to treatment.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: Analyze outcomes of treatments such as office-based procedures and surgery in the context of physiologic impact on phonatory function.

BACKGROUND STATEMENT: Opportunities for learning nuances of laryngeal stroboscopy interpretation and application to clinical decision-making are sparse in training programs. We will use video based cases to illustrate fundamental concepts.
