Comprehensive Snoring and OSA Treatments in 2025: From Tirzepatide to Surgery

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Treatment for snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is continually evolving. In 2025 FDA approved the first drug available for the treatment of OSA. Based on solid clinical trials and phase III studies, Tirzepatide has been shown to not only be effective in reducing BMI, but also significantly lowering AHI. The public demand for more information and treatment with Tirzepatide has been overwhelming. Obviously, medical therapy will not replace all other treatment options. This course is designed to educate the participants on the indications, contraindications, surveillance monitors, and potential risks of Tirzepatide. The course will also focus its use as an adjunct to other surgical and non-surgical treatment options. Current surgical treatment options used by the panel members will also be discussed in detail.
I. Non-surgical therapy:
-Tirzepatide: indications/contraindications, surveillance monitors, and potential risks
- New medications undergoing clinical trials for OSA
-Snore circle
- Excite OSA
II. Minimally Invasive Therapy:
-Laser Techniques
-Radiofrequency Tongue Base Reduction
-Barbed Reposition Pharyngoplasty
II. Classical Surgical Therapy:
-Classic UPPP
-Lateral Pharyngoplasty
-Transpalatal Pharyngoplasty
III. Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulation Therapy

Learning Objectives:

  1. Present the data on the use of Tirzepatide for OSA treatment.
  2. Present an overview of the decision making for the treatment of snoring and OSA.
  3. Present surgical techniques preferred by the panelists for the treatment of snoring and OSA
