PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This video demonstrates a transmastoid approach to repair of superior semicircular canal dehiscence. The case presentation describes the pertinent patient symptomatology, findings on audiometry, VEMPs, and CT scan before showing a step-by-step guide for operative repair. While many surgeons repair superior semicircular canal dehiscence using a middle fossa approach, a transmastoid approach is an appropriate option for those with favorable anatomy and has lower potential morbidity given the procedure is limited to the mastoid. Superior Semicircular canal dehiscence is a relatively new diagnosis with characteristic symptoms and findings.

Goals of the video include:
1) Recognizing the symptoms of superior semicircular canal dehiscence, 2) interpreting the findings of superior semicircular canal dehiscence on workup (audiometry, CT, VEMP), and 3) demonstrating the transmastoid surgical approach for superior semicircular canal dehiscence repair.
