PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Here, a technique of anterolateral thigh free flap harvest is presented that emphasizes perforator preservation without inclusion of abundant vastus lateralis muscle. The recognition of different strategies for harvest of ALT free flaps is important for anyone applying this diversely useful free flap to their practice.
This first-person point-of-view video also includes discussion of flap design and considerations for use at the recipient site.
