PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Pediatric Voice disorders compromise a unique set of disorders that differ from adult voice disorders. The focus of this panel will be on case based learning to illustrate a series of pediatric voice disorders and their management. Management will cover diagnostic tools, medical management, surgical management. Cases covered will include: Pediatric nodules, cysts, vocal fold paralysis, post airway reconstruction dysphonia. Review of relevant literature pertinent to each specific case will be reviewed during the course.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the management of common pediatric voice disorders such as vocal nodules, paralysis, and post airway reconstruction dysphonia.
  2. Be able to describe the differences and similarities between adult and pediatric management of common dysphonias.
  3. Discuss the controversies in management of common pediatric voice problems.
