Nila Novotny, MD, FAAOHNS, FAAFPRS, FACS is the senior partner at Columbus Otolaryngology Clinic in Columbus, Nebraska. A graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Dr. Novotny earned her medical degree before pursuing an Otolaryngology (ENT) residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, where she completed her training in 1987. Upon graduation, she opened a practice in General Otolaryngology in Columbus, Nebraska, where she has served ever since.
After years at her solo clinic, she transitioned to working under the umbrella of the Columbus Community Hospital, where she practice where she sees patients two to three days a week. She has served on various hospital committees and as President of the Medical Staff. Her vast experience spans the full range of ENT services, and though she is gradually reducing her hours in preparation for retirement.
Over the years, Dr. Novotny expanded her reach beyond Columbus, Nebraska with satellite clinics in neighboring cities, continuing to provide care to underserved areas. Her practice has been bolstered by a new partner, who joined her team three years ago, ensuring that the clinic continues to thrive as she shifts toward a more limited role along with mid level practitioners.
She has served on various committees, including AAO-HNS, ACS, AAFPPRS, the AMA, the Nebraska Academy of Otolaryngology and the Nebraska Medical Association.
She has been involved in numerous international medical missions.
Dr. Novotny has served as a 4-H leader, worked with the Lions Club, and is a member of the Federated Church Bell Choir and Vocal Choir. She has served on various committees and volunteers at the local museum.
She is an avid cyclist, traveler, reader, and quilter.
She is married to John, her partner in both life and medical missions.They are proud parents of three adult children and six wonderful grandchildren.
