Eugene A. Kim, MM is a third-year medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Before entering medicine, Eugene trained extensively in music, an experience that enriched his appreciation for the sensory and communicative basis of human connection. Current research interests span perioperative care, healthcare disparities, and early development of translational projects exploring the immunological context of hearing loss. After his clerkship training, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in clinical research with a focus on data science. In addition to academic life, Eugene continues his creative pursuits, viewing both medicine and music as disciplines rooted in technical precision, deep listening, and crafting meaningful resonance between individuals and communities.
