Dr. Wade Thorstad is a Professor and Chief of Head and Neck Cancer Service in the Department of Radiation Oncology, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. As a Radiation Oncologist, he specializes in the treatment of head and neck cancer and thoracic oncology. Dr. Thorstad graduated from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in Houston, Texas. He completed residency training at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois and at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, followed with fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Thorstad concentrates on the treatment of cancers of the head and neck, and thoracic oncology. He along with the Head and Neck Multidisciplinary team are engaged in clinical trials aiming to increase the cure rate for head and neck cancer while at the same time reducing toxicity related to treatment. Dr. Thorstad is a teacher and mentor for all of those that cross his path. He has been consistently recognized in “The Best Doctors in America’ list. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family.
