David J. Fei-Zhang, MD, MBA

David Fei-Zhang is a current first-year head & neck surgery resident at Northwestern University. He received his MD and MBA from Northwestern University at the Feinberg School of Medicine and Kellogg School of Management, respectively, in 2025. He received his BA from Vanderbilt University in 2020 with focuses in the biological sciences and medical humanities. He has had varied research experiences ranging from oncogenic biomarker and anti-cancer compound characterization, to high-throughput -omics data analysis, to large-data approaches in assessing national and global outcome disparities. He hopes to continue developing these interests within the field of head-neck oncology and further his leadership in exploring the intersection of large-data analysis approaches with multifactorial determinants of health, care delivery, educational access, and needs assessments domestically and abroad. He currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the Global Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Initiative, a global health research 501c3 nonprofit corporation that holds a nearly 400-membership network of the world's foremost OHNS-scientists in support of research, education, and advocacy efforts toward equitable otolaryngologic care. He also has led and advised several multi-stakeholder research-changemaker coalitions across numerous academic institutions, the National Cancer Institute, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, President Biden's Cancer Moonshot Committee, and other enterprise/philanthropic bodies. He currently serves on the Editorial Board for Cancer Control, the official academic journal for the Moffitt Cancer Center.
