Dr.J. Thomas Roland Jr. is Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Neurosurgery at NYU Langone Medical Center. He is an active neurotologist/skull base surgeon with an interest in cochlear Implantation, skull base surgery, acoustic neuroma management and facial nerve paralysis management. He co-directs one of the largest NF2 related Schwannomatosis centers in the country. He has performed over 4000 Cochlear implants as well as 3500 acoustic neuroma surgeries and specializes in very complicated, unusual cases and revision cases. He's actively involved in research in the aforementioned special areas. He has over 300 manuscipts in publication as well as 4 textbooks and numerous textbook chapters. Dr. Roland is the Immediate Past President of the American Neurotology Society and recent Chair of the Academies Implantable Hearing Device Committee.
