Patrick Kiessling, MD is a resident physician in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at Stanford University, currently in the R25 Clinician-Scientist Training pathway. He completed his medical school education at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in 2021. Prior to pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Kiessling obtained his degree in classical voice performance from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance in 2017. With a unique blend of medical training and artistic background, Dr. Kiessling brings a multidimensional perspective to the field. He received an AAO-HNSF Resident Research CORE Grant for his proposal, “Effects of Fine Particulate Matter on the Larynx in a Mouse Model.” His academic interests encompass multiple facets of otolaryngology, including pediatric otolaryngology, laryngology, gender-affirming care, sustainability, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. He strives to advance the field of otolaryngology through research and innovation while also addressing the specific needs and challenges faced by diverse patient populations.
