Lia Jacobson, MD, MSGM is a board-certified pediatric otolaryngologist and assistant clinical professor at UC San Francisco. She is Co-Director for the UCSF Center for Health Equity in Surgery and Anesthesia’s (CHESA) Fellowship Program, UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco’s Multidisciplinary Aerodigestive Center and the Trach-Vent Clinic.
Dr. Jacobson is committed to improving surgical education and surgical equity globally. In addition to her role as Co-Director for CHESA's global surgery fellowship program, she works directly with ENT training programs in Tanzania, Uganda and Cambodia. Her academic interests include capacity building in global surgery and pediatric otolaryngology, pediatric airway safety and multidisciplinary team models of care.
Dr. Jacobson completed an undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley and has a master's degree in global medicine from the University of Southern California (USC). She earned her medical degree and completed residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at USC, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at UC San Francisco. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
