Maria-Jose Soto is a Biomedical Engineer (MPE, BSci), currently working at Earflo. Maria-Jose studied at the University of Western Australia, completing her Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Neuroscience and Physiology, in 2018. Following this, she completed a Graduate Diploma in 2021, specialising in Engineering Science, followed by completion of her Master in Professional Engineering degree in 2022, specialising in Biomedical Engineering. During her time at university, she was a Research Assistant with the VascLab research group at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. Her work focussed on the use and feasibility of new biomaterials for hernia meshes. Maria-Jose also worked as a Biomedical Engineer at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (Western Australia), where she aided in the maintenance, repair, and acceptance of medical equipment within the hospital. In 2023, Maria-Jose commenced her role as a Research Officer at the University of Western Australia, where she worked closely with Earflo, including helping to coordinate, run, and analyse their clinical trials. Maria-Jose has since aided in the manuscript writing and review of Earflo's most recently published paper. She was also part of the team accepted to present at the American Academy of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery conferences in 2024.
