Akshay Tangutur is a current third-year medical student at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University and a former Clinical Research Coordinator for Division Director Raj C. Dedhia, MD MSCR in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. At Penn, Akshay led & coordinated several investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials focused on improving patient selection & evaluating cardiovascular outcomes related to surgical therapies for obstructive sleep apnea.
Akshay is actively pursuing a career in Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and remains passionate about research and advancing surgical education. His recent research includes projects in sleep surgery and pediatric otolaryngology. He also serves on the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Medical Student Task Force.
