Tae Hoon Kong, M.D., Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine, South Korea.
Dr. Kong is a board-certified otolaryngologist with subspecialty expertise in otology, neurotology, and medical artificial intelligence. He received his M.D. from Yonsei University (2011), completed his residency and fellowship at Wonju Severance Christian Hospital, and earned a Ph.D. in medical science from Yonsei University, Seoul (2022). He also holds degrees in information statistics and medical statistics, reflecting his strong interdisciplinary background in clinical medicine and data science.
Dr. Kong's clinical and research focus lies in hearing and balance disorders, auditory rehabilitation, and the integration of AI technologies in medical diagnostics and decision support. His work has led to the development of AI-based prediction and diagnostic models for sudden sensorineural hearing loss and dizziness disorders, with ongoing efforts in digital healthcare innovation and clinical validation.
He has authored numerous SCI(E) publications as first or corresponding author, including studies on benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), vitamin D in vertigo recurrence, and mobile audiometry. Dr. Kong actively collaborates on national and international research, and is involved in several large-scale projects aimed at standardizing digital diagnostic tools in otology and vestibular science.
Currently, he serves as a principal investigator on a multi-institutional project for developing multimodal AI-based precision medicine tools and holds leadership roles in related clinical trials and academic societies. His lab's nickname, "ONAIR", reflects his mission to improve auditory health through technology and compassion.
