Dr. Satish Govindaraj is Director of Rhinology and Sinus Surgery and an Associate Professor and Vice-Chairman of Clinical Affairs in the Department of Otolaryngology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Medical University, completed his internship and residency in Otolaryngology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, and a fellowship in endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery at the Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to the comprehensive treatment of sinus disease, Dr. Govindaraj's clinical interests include endoscopic skull base surgery, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, paranasal sinus and skull base tumors, balloon sinuplasty, and otolaryngic allergy. His current research is focused on the importance of ergonomics in endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery. Dr. Govindaraj leads multiple clinical trials in the division of rhinology focused on patients with refractory sinus disease and surgical ergonomics.
Dr. Govindaraj has published articles in the major U.S. journals in his specialty and is the author of several book chapters on sinus and skull base surgery. He is also a co-editor of the textbook Anesthesia and Otolaryngology. He is a member and has presented at meetings of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Rhinologic Society.
