Dr. Bennion completed his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. He completed his combined MD-PhD graduate training from the University of Florida, Gainseville, FL, earning a PhD in Biomedical Sciences followed by his MD. He graduated from residency in Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery from the University of Iowa. He completed neurotology fellowship at the University of California San Diego, after which he joined the neurotology division at University of Iowa Health Care. Clinically, he treats patients with the full breadth of otologic pathologies and with lateral skull base pathologies. His preclinical and clinical research work is focused on pharmacologic interventions targeting the renin angiotensin system that are protective in auditory disorders including hearing loss, tinnitus, and vertigo.
