Ghayoour Mir, MD, is a board certified Otolaryngologist with advanced training in head and neck oncology. He attended New York College of Osteopathic Medicine for his medical education. Following his graduation, Dr. Mir embarked on a path of specialized training in otolaryngology head and neck surgery, honing his skills in diagnosing and treating complex conditions affecting the head, neck, and related structures at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
Recognizing the significance of treating head and neck cancers, Dr. Mir was determined to expand his knowledge and expertise in this challenging field. With this goal in mind, he pursued rigorous training in advanced head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction at the New York University. This sub-specialty allowed him to tackle complex cases, which involved reconstructing delicate structures in the head and neck using microsurgical techniques. Dr. Mir became proficient in utilizing tissue from various donor sites to restore form and function to patients who had undergone extensive cancer surgeries.
Beyond his surgical acumen, Dr. Mir has also been involved in various research projects aimed at improving treatment outcomes and patient quality of life. This has led to several peer-reviewed publications, along with presentations at national conferences.
Dr. Mir continues to be an advocate for personalized, patient-centric care, ensuring that each individual receives the best possible treatment tailored to their specific needs.
