Emma is a 4th year medical student at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. She completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Behavior at Columbia University (Columbia College). She took a dedicated research year under the mentorship of Dr. Kenneth Yan, focusing on laryngology and the laryngeal microbiome, including developing prospective quality of life protocols and leading multi-institutional collaborations. She has also conducted research on airway management, malignant otitis externa, and optimizing surgical outcomes. Emma has presented her work at national meetings and is passionate about advancing evidence-based, patient centered care. She is hoping to pursue a career in academic laryngology.
