Eric Formeister, MD, MS is an assistant professor of otology and neurotology in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at Duke University School of Medicine and fellowship director for the Duke neurotology fellowship. He completed his undergraduate, master's, and medical degrees at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He completed his residency in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by his neurotology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His clinical interests include superior canal dehiscence syndrome and cochlear implantation outcomes. His research interests are in surgical ergonomics, quality outcomes, and provision of otology and neurotology care in resource-poor settings.
