Rick F. Nelson MD, PhD is a Professor of Otolaryngology and Neurosurgery at Indiana University. Dr. Nelson completed his MD/PhD at the University of Iowa School of Medicine. He then completed his Otolaryngology residency training and Neurotology/skull base fellowship at the University of Iowa. Clinically, Dr. Nelson specializes in the management of hearing loss, cochlear implantation, spontaneous CSF leaks, and lateral skull base tumors including acoustic neuromas. His NIH-funded research seeks to understand the mechanism of genetically mediated hearing loss.
