James C. Wang, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor, Northwestern Medical Hospital, Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Dr. James C. Wang is a Chicago fellowship trained Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who specializes in plastic surgery of the head and neck region. He attended the University of Rochester where he earned his BSE in Biomedical Engineering with Distinction and minors in Biology and Chemical engineering. He worked as a biomedical engineer for four years developing gold nanoparticles for the treatment of head and neck cancer at Nanospectra Biosciences, a startup biotechnology company in Houston, TX. He then attended Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) where he completed his Ph.D. in Immunology and Infectious Diseases with Dr. Abdul Hamood. His dissertation was on the development of novel antibiofilm therapies and analysis of bacterial interactions within middle ear fluid and on tympanostomy tubes. He was appointed and continues to serve as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the TTUHSC. After obtaining his Doctor in Medicine at TTUHSC, he completed his residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Cincinnati.
