Carlos Koudouovoh, a rising Medical Student and Medical Assistant at Sleep and Sinus of GA, holds a Bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience. He is interested in specialization in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Oncology. Carlos's past research includes studying the effect of E. coli and bacteriophages on the removal of the icd gene and the impact of T4 phage on bacterial growth. He also conducted RNA-Seq analysis of a conserved DNA-binding protein in Bacillus subtilis. Further research involved identifying bacteria that produce or modify serotonin signaling pathways in C. Elegans and investigating the evolution of WhiG sigma factors in the Phylum Actinobacteria. His work on individual differences in frontal-medial Theta EEG Power and Recall During Narrative Comprehension earned him 'Best Poster and Presentation' at Johns Hopkins University in April 2023, and related work on the Relationship between Theta-Alpha Ratio during Narrative Comprehension and Recall. Additionally, Carlos explored the intricacies of the gut-brain axis through a comprehensive meta-analysis of the gut microbiome's influence on behavior and neurodegenerative diseases. He is currently working as the Chief Officer of Research on a sleep app and mental health with a tech startup, and is also involved in research regarding otolaryngology involving nasal obstruction and sleep apnea, as well as Zileuton as a non-biologic alternative in the treatment of Nasal Sinus Polyposis
