Mark R. Gilbert, MD is a laryngologist at the University of Missouri. Dr. Gilbert's medical education culminated with a fellowship in Laryngology and Care of the Professional Voice at Vanderbilt University. A singer, he is especially attuned to the needs of people who use their voice professionally, as he has been active for over 30 years in theater as well as operatic and choral singing. He spent five years training in classical voice and advanced to the Mid-Atlantic Region of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Adjudications, achieving Superior scores. He has been a member of multiple choirs and choruses across the United States, including the Trinity Church Choir Copley Square in Boston, Duke Chapel Choir, and the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. He currently is a member of the Columbia Chorale and on the board of the Choral Arts Alliance of Missouri.
