Iyawnna Hazzard is currently a third-year medical student at California Northstate Unversity, College of Medicine (CNUCOM). She previously obtained her masters of science in general biology at New York University (NYU) Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and bachelors of arts in integrative biology at University of California, Berkeley. Prior to medical school, Iyawnna worked as a scientist at a non-profit organization, the New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) where she used gene editing to modulate protein expression to study immune evasion. She enjoys painting, reading, and spending time with her kittens.
