I have a very long term interest in sleep surgery and have been persuing better techniques for 30 years. Early on we looked at tongue suspension and the results could be excellent but varied patient to patient. The hyoid in addition to oral based surgery has yielded consistent results. We are looing at a prospective study in rrelation to ejection fractionand reduction of a host of inflammatory markers. These do not get better wiith CPAP; they do wiith surgery.
