My name is Shane D. Martin, B.S., and I am a third-year medical student at Rush Medical College in Chicago. Our current research, conducted in collaboration with the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Rush University Medical Center, investigates disparities in access to and representation within surgical subspecialties. The project specifically examines demographic differences in the field of otolaryngology, with the goal of identifying systemic barriers and promoting equitable opportunities in surgical training.
