Dr. Marjan Rahmanian is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Neurology, and Cardiothoracic Surgery. She earned her medical degree and anesthesiology certification at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran. In the U.S., she completed an Internal Medicine residency at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside and a Critical Care fellowship at Mount Sinai. She later joined the faculty at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and served as Associate Director of the Cardiothoracic Surgical ICU at Montefiore. She also completed a Performance Improvement Fellowship and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Her clinical and research interests include post–heart surgery care and mechanical circulatory support, including heart and lung transplantation. As a cardiac intensivist, Dr. Rahmanian focuses on the management of post heart surgery like CABG, valve replacement, Mechanical Circulatory Support like, ECMO, LVAD, Impella, heart and lung transplant. Her research interests focus on post-cardiac surgery care with a strong emphasis on quality improvement initiatives to optimize outcomes in high-acuity cardiac ICU settings.
