University of California - San Francisco
Leyda S. Marrero Morales is a medical student from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, in her fourth year at the University of California, San Francisco. She earned her degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Florida and is now committed to pursuing a career in Otolaryngology. She is drawn to the field due to its technical complexity and versatility, as well as the opportunity to care for patients with conditions that impact communication, identity, and quality of life. Her research spans global health opportunities in OHNS, pediatric otoscopy, hearing screening in underserved communities, and climate-resilient cancer care in Puerto Rico. Leyda is interested in improving access to ENT care for Latinx and other marginalized populations both locally and globally.
