Ted Zhao is a fourth-year medical student at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. He was born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in Arlington, Texas. He attended the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science before earning a Bachelor of Science and Arts degree in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin in 2020.
Mr. Zhao has engaged in research across multiple disciplines, including biochemistry, neuroscience, infectious disease, and otolaryngology. At this conference, he will present his work on anatomical variations of the recurrent laryngeal nerve in relation to the inferior thyroid artery using a cadaveric model. Additionally, he has contributed to an oral presentation examining authorship in otolaryngology gender-focused research publications.
His academic interests include clinical anatomy and otolaryngology with a focus on rhinology, and he remains committed to contributing to evidence-based advancements in medical science. In his free time, he enjoys cooking a variety of cuisines and hiking through national and state parks with family and friends.
