Medical Student
University of California, Davis, School of Medicine
Cynthia Sun, B.S., M.M. is a fourth-year medical student at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine applying to Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery residency in 2025. She is originally from San Jose, California and completed her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University in 2019 and her Master of Music in Piano Chamber Music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2020. Her love for music naturally transformed into her interest in Otolaryngology, a field that redefines patients’ sensorial connections to the world around them. She is also pursuing a Health Policy & Advocacy area of scholarly concentration at UC Davis with a specific lens on climate change and housing inequities. Her current research focuses on feeding outcomes of pediatric patients with tracheoesophageal fistulas and impacts of wildfire pollution on head and neck cancer incidence and mortality. In her spare time, Cynthia enjoys doing New York Times crossword puzzles, crocheting, and playing violin-piano duets with her fiance.
