PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This symposium explores the evolving understanding and management of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in Asian populations, emphasizing the diagnostic and therapeutic advancements achieved through drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE). The program highlights the unique challenges of managing non-obese patients with small tonsils, a subgroup where predicting surgical outcomes is particularly challenging. Insights from interventions during DISE offer a pathway to a more personalized and precise approach to airway management. Another key focus will be new discoveries in soft palate dynamics observed during DISE, providing a refined understanding of this critical site of airway collapse and enabling more targeted and effective interventions. Additionally, the symposium will examine the expanding role of nasal surgery in OSA treatment, including procedures such as posterior nasal nerve management, which enhance airflow and support other therapeutic modalities.

By integrating these cutting-edge topics, the symposium equips clinicians with practical strategies to address the unique anatomical and clinical challenges of OSA in Asian populations.
