PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Technology moves fast, and that especially goes for implantable hearing devices. New devices and indications emerge every year! This Expert Lecture will update the comprehensive otolaryngologist and otologist on the current state of osseointegrated implants including modern indications/candidacy identification, as well as a comprehensive dive into transcutaneous versus percutaneous options. MRI safety, medical/surgical factors, and hearing outcomes will all be explored, especially for newly released devices. Any updates to navigating a complex insurance landscape will also be integrated into the talk.
Your panelists are two highly experienced implant surgeons as well as the current Audiology Director of the Hearing Implant Program at Cleveland Clinic.

Learning Objectives:

Recognize patients that would benefit from osseointegrated implantable hearing options, and how to choose among the myriad of available options for which patient.
Understand the pros/cons of the newer transcutaneous devices versus the traditional percutaneous options.
Unpack the marketing from the real-world experience on patient experience after activation.
