PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Malignant sinonasal and anterior skull base neoplasms are one of the most challenging diseases Otolaryngologists encounter in their practice. As Otolaryngologists, we participate in the care of these disorders to varying degrees, ranging from diagnosis, through management, and as part of multi-disciplinary care. Given the rarity of these disorders, and the often non-specific signs and symptoms of these diseases, it is important to revisit their diagnosis and management. To this end, this course will provide a refresher to the practitioner who may encounter these and refer, and act as a springboard for discussion to the Otolaryngologist whose practice encompasses these disorders. This course will provide an engaging and informative overview of a) diagnostic warning signs, b) workup and special considerations, c) surgical management including open/endoscopic/hybrid methods, d) use of non-surgical modalities including adjuvant treatments and novel therapeutics, f) impact of social determinants of health, g) disease outcomes, and h) how a multidisciplinary approach is essential to management. The use of established care pathways and novel technologies will be integrated into the discussion as well. New for 2025 will be a primary emphasis on case presentations to facilitate learning, updates from the literature, updated team/multi-disciplinary care considerations, as well as additional pearls for surgical management. This course instructors will keep the participants engaged, informed, and entertained!

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 1: Recognize key findings associated with malignant sinonasal and anterior skull base neoplasms that can impact diagnosis and management.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 2: Synthesize a plan for workup and treatment based on established pathways and evidence based medicine.

OUTCOME OBJECTIVE 3: Discuss the different surgical and non-surgical methods for treatment as well as adjuvant and novel therapeutics.

BACKGROUND STATEMENT: This is a topic that is not only important to Otolaryngologists, but a key part of the content being presented has been identified as a knowledge gap in the comprehensive analysis. Having updated functional knowledge of this topic can benefit the membership.
